Charminar

The Charminar is located in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was constructed in the year 1591. It is officially integrated as Emblem of Telangana. On its top floor, is a mosque that existed for more than 425 years old. Surrounding this monument there is a popular and busy local market that attracts tourists. The Archaeological Survey of India has listed it as one of the archaeological and architectural treasures in the “List of Monuments”.

Mysore Palace

This palace is also known as Amba Vilas Palace, and it is the royal residence and used as the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty. The palace faces the Chamundi Hills and is located in the center of Mysore. There are seven palaces in Mysore so it is described as the ‘City of Palaces’. Yaduraya first built this palace with wood in the 14th century inside the Old Fort, which got afire and was reconstructed many times with stone, wood, and bricks between 1897 and 1912. In India, after the Taj Mahal, Mysore Palace is the most famous tourist attraction. During the Dusshera festival, the palace is decorated with more than 100,000 light bulbs.

Golkonda Fort

It is located in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. The Kakatiya King constructed a mud fort in the 12th century the Bahmani dynasty took over it between 14th & 17th centuries. Later Qutub Shahi dynasty modified it into granite. Once it was a famous diamond market. Koh-i-Noor and Hope diamonds were stored here. It is said that there is a secret tunnel that goes to Charminar and a secret underground tunnel that connects the main darbar hall and the palace gates.

Hampi

Hampi is a village name that is located near the river Thungabadra in Karnataka. Once it was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Hampi has been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There are more than 500 historical monuments in Hampi. Vital Temple Complex, Mahanavami Dibba, Lotus Mahal, Virupaksha Temple, and House of Victory are the other monuments in Hampi.

Gol Gumbuz

It is located in once Bijapur, now known as Vijaypur. It was constructed in the year 1656 and took 30 years to complete, by the seventh ruler of the Adil Shah Dynasty the architect Yaqut of Dabul.  The monument is made from Dark Grey Basalt. The secret of this tomb is, right below inside the central tomb it is known as a whispering gallery, where every sound whispers more than 40 meters distance and can be heard clearly.  

Belum Caves

The Indian Subcontinent plains it is the longest caves and the second largest cave system which is open to visitors. This cave system was formed on its own thousands of years ago by the continuous flow of the river Chitravati which has now disappeared. In February 2002 after the deep exploration of the caves, the government developed the caves and opened them for tourists.

Chola Temples

For nearly about 1500 years the Chola’s rulers ruled and they built some splendid temples in Tamil Nadu, South India. These temples were built in Dravidian style between the 11th and 12th Centuries CE. The famous temples are Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur, Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, and Airavatesvara Temple along with these there are 7 other Chola temples. These temples are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  

Mahabalipuram

It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its monuments are built in the 7th and 8th centuries located in Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit for tourists in India. During the Pallava kingdom, this place was the major port city. Don’t miss to visit these interesting places Shore Temple, Krishna Butter Ball (around the Butter Ball you can visit Light House, Trimurti Cave, Draupadi’s Bath, Raya Gopuram), Pancha Rathas, Descendant of the Ganges, Mahabalipuram beach.

The Temples of Pattadakal

For royal remembrance and coronation, a large complex of temples was built by the Early Chalukyas in the year 543-753 CE. Pattadakal is located in the district of Bagalkot, Karnataka. All the temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva and face to the east. There are 9 Shiva temples ( Mallikarjuna Temple front of the temple you can see the Monolithic Stone Pillar, Sangameswara Temple, Kadasiddheswara Temple, Jambulingeswara Temple, Galaganatha Temple, Chandrashekhara Temple, Papanatha Temple, Kasivisweswara Temple) and one Jain Temple which is known as Jain Narayana Temple which was constructed in the 9th Century CE.

Halebidu

It was originally known as Dwarasamudra ruled by Hoysala rulers and was a capital city. It was named ‘Halebidu’ meaning ‘ruins’ after it was looted, damaged, ransacked, and deserted twice in the 14th century by the Islamic forces of the Delhi Sultanate. The temples are constructed by using Monolithic Soapstone or Chloritic Schist. The places to visit are Belur, Hoysaleswara Temple, Yagachi Dam, Basadi Halli, Archaeological Museum, Kedareshwara Temple, City shopping, Shantaleswara Temple, and Hoysala Mahotsava.

Summer Palace of Tipu Sultan

The palace is located in Bangalore. It was the summer residence of Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan with an example of Indo-Islamic Architecture. Hyder Ali started the construction of the Bangalore Fort, and in 1791 during the Tipu Sultan’s reign, it was completed. Now, this palace is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. The eastern and western balconies of the upper floor were used to conduct his durbar.
